Letter to the Editor
I don’t see why congress needs to vote again to raise the debt limit when Congress has already make the decision. Over the past 40 years Congress over and over again passed budgets where spending exceeded revenues. When you pass budgets that are out of balance then you have to borrow money to make up the difference, thus you are effectively voting to increase the national debt. So the decision by Congress to increase the debt ceiling has already occurred. There’s no reason to do it again. President Obama can keep paying the nations bills after August 2nd without having to get Congress to approve something they already approved.
