Letter to the Editor
There’s an old saying, “It takes one to know one.” It’s pretty easy to tell the believers from the non-believers. And as an Atheist it’s clear to me that Mitt Romney is not a believer.
Case in point. Mitt Romney’s latest excuse as to why he’s not releasing his tax return is that he’s protecting the privacy of his church. Romney says, “It’s a very personal thing between ourselves and our commitment to our God and to our church.” What? Are you kidding me?
It’s bad enough that he’s lying, but to use God and the Church as part of that lie is dishonest to the point that even as an Atheist I’m offended. If I were a believer I could never do that. Mitt Romney is a Bishop in the Mormon church. A Bishop! Un-believable!!!
I can’t believe that the Mormon Church isn’t calling for his resignation. He sure isn’t doing them any favors because when we Atheists see believers using the name of God to enhance a lie to conceal a tax return, our response is, why should we believe in something you don’t believe in?
