Letter to the Editor

The American government see the world as if there are 2 kinds of people, Americans and foreigners. What we don’t seem to get is that we are only 5% of the world and the other 95% of the world doesn’t like being treated as if they were second class humans. The very idea that we can spy on “foreigners” because they have no rights doesn’t play well for the rest of the planet.

The Internet is resilient and the rest of the world will start to reconfigure around USA spying. Business will move way from US based operations into countries that don’t allow America to spy. This program will end up costing us trillions and America will no longer be dominate in the technology arena. And the spying creates yet another reason to inspire terrorists and in the long run will make us less safe.  What America give up freedom, bin Laden wins.
