Letter to the Editor
It scares me when Bush's poll numbers drop below 50% because the only things the drive Bush's poll numbers up are terrorist events and war. Once the cloud of terrorism and was subsides the voters start to notice that the economy is collapsing, the deficit is soaring, education and health care systems failing, and the governments wants to spy on everything we do. So what scares me is with the presidential election heating up - Bush needs a war or terrorist event to distract America from his failed presidency. And I get nervous when Bush needs war.
----
Do I think Bush would start a war just to win an election? You bet I do!
What do I believe that? Well ....
The mainstream media is a puppet of the Bush administration.
Why is Bush trying to thrawt the 9-11 investigation?
You never hear anything about the anthrax attack anymore.
Bush is still searching for a reason for the Iraq war.
The mainstream media is a puppet of the Bush administration.
The government want to spy on everyone everywhere.
We're running an illegal concentration camp at Gotmo.
We know Bin Laden is in Pakastan - but we don't go after him there.
The mainstream media is a puppet of the Bush administration.
The government of Saudi Ariba funded the 9-11 terrorists - byt they are our "alies".
The war with Iraq was planned BEFORE 9-11.
A lot of Bush opponents are committing "suicide".
The mainstream media is a puppet of the Bush administration.
Well Just the thing... With NUke material in Iran (they have oil) Just the place for a bush war.... I would not be surprised if he attacked there....
Posted by: Iwonder at September 25, 2003 09:12 PMGeneral Wesley Clark recently relayed a story dating to fall 2001 for a book which is excerpted in Newsweek's 29 September 2003 issue. See the MSNBC report at:
http://www.msnbc.com/news/969671.asp
http://stacks.msnbc.com/news/969671.asp
Clark relays that at least a portion of the military were planning in 2001 for invasion and occupation of a total of seven countries stretching from Mediterranea & Persian Gulf to China: "beginning with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Somalia, and Sudan." [But that's not all. Act now and we will throw in Afganistan too at only modest additional charge, including pipeline-building rights. Don't delay; invade today.]
But that is merely a pipedream plan of some truly-eccentric wackos, one might say. The neo-conservatives (neo-cons) have a habit of enacting such plans. The Project for a New American Century (PNAC) published a document in September 2000 (note the year), entitled _Rebuilding America’s Defenses: Strategy, Forces and Resources for a New Century_.
http://www.newamericancentury.org/RebuildingAmericasDefenses.pdf
This PNAC manifesto---written by neo-cons for neo-cons---appears to be being enacted by the neo-cons in the Bush II administration.
In fact this PNAC manifesto yearns for a "new Pearl Harbor" on page 63. "Further, the process of transformation [of 2000's U.S. military into a globally-dominant force for enacting the New American Century], even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event---like a new Pearl Harbor." And voila, a year later a new Pearl-Harbor-esque attack occurs on 11 September 2001 with 86% of the Bush II administration's first term remaining for enactment of much of the now-catalyzed PNAC plan.
And in summary, one should read the following from Michael Meecher, a former minister in Tony Blair's cabinet and current member of British Parliment. As a member of the British government, he would have access to information, conversations, and trends which no commonperson would be able to observe.

As I have attempted to demonstrate, your fears are justified. I suspect that the disdainful behavior that we have seen so far from the Bush II administration is tame compared to what is to come in the near future (possibly before the election of 2004 and certainly in Bush's second term). I suspect that we have another World War II situation developing here, but this time it is the USA which is rolling the tanks into countries to seize a degree of power sufficient for forcible world domination via soon-to-be near-total control of the world's exportable oil production and shipping lanes. In fact, at least one neo-con, James Woolsey, appears to concur that what the USA & Britain are now doing to the world is in fact a world war in that he labels it as "World War IV." (Note that World War III was the Cold War in the neo-con terminology.)

Well of course stupid. If they present a threat because they are not cooperating with UN nuke inspectors then WE BETTER ATTACK! It's not the oil stupid. It's about safety and stopping people who oppress others. Hell, last Valentines day in Iran people we arrested and jailed for buying cards for their spouces. YOU CALL THAT FREEDOM? Lets go over there and topple that govt. The people in that country are practically begging for western influence and help, especially the students at the universities. After that, next stop Korea!
Hey, THEBIRD, is your first name RUSH? I make a comment about Bush attacking Iran to start a war to get reelected and you attack me personally? What gives are you one of the END THE WORLD christians? Also lest you forget the people in Iran kicked our butts out of there. Gee maybe they dont want Western Values! Also I did not call you stupid, I would not lower myself to your level......Wonder on that....
Posted by: Iwonder at September 26, 2003 02:46 PMthebird, a blind follower of corporate america, let me just say, you don't know sh*t (including how to spell!). I am not worried about Iran attacking us, to me there is no question that it will NOT happen. Did you forget the US/CIA placed a puppet government in there (remember Reza Shah?) and backed the secret police who tortured and executed his opponents? who were we freeing then? Why did we do this? previous to the overthrow they had a democratically elected leader in there, who by the way nulled any agreements with the west in terms of oil. it's about oil baby (oh and of course more control in the middle east)
Posted by: junknira at September 28, 2003 04:31 PMNope. It's not about oil, dumb-asses. And the media is not a puppet of the Bush administration. The mainstream media is so liberal that it would make Castro cringe.
Posted by: Libertarian X at October 7, 2003 08:36 AMThat is cute, another personal attack instead of debating the issue. This seems to be a current trend I see whenever debating with neo-cons, instead of proving a point they resolve to personal slander.
The fact of the matter is the US foreign policy does not exist anymore. It has been replaced by fear, fear that the US is going to attack your country if you say something that the dictator of the US finds inappropriate.
I also ask, why did Bush shift his attention away from Bin Laden? Does anyone not care that he STILL has not been found, and he is the chief ochestrator of 9-11. Seriously, lets all start taking a hint from this current administration, we do not need to finish anything we start.
I leave with a nauseous feeling in my stomach that Bush will indeed get re-elected, and the future state of the American public. And for any neo-cons out there reading this post, the rest of the world does not just dislike us, they hate us. Keep with your war-mongering and see if they don't ban together and attack us.
Posted by: Michael at January 22, 2004 07:59 AMThe CIA had an opening for an assassin. After all of the background checks, interviews, and testing were done there were three finalists - two men and one woman. For the final test, the CIA agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun.
"We must know that you will follow your instructions, no matter what the circumstances. Inside this room you will find your wife sitting in a chair. You have to kill her." The first man said. "You cant be serious. I could never shoot my wife!"The agent replies, "Then you?re not the right man for this job."
The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about five minutes. Then the agent came out with tears in his eyes. "I tried, but I cant kill my wife." The agent replies, "You dont have what it takes. Take your wife and go home."
Finally, it was the womans turn. Only she was told to kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one shot after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman. She wiped the sweat from her brow and said, "You guys didnt tell me the gun was loaded with blanks. So I had to beat him to death with the chair."
