So - after all the chest beating and chalenging Chris Mathews to a duel - what's the story on his military record? Anyone know?
With all due rationality, i would like to say that zell miller is fucking crazy.
With his speach at the republican national convention 2 nights ago, and his challenging chris matthews to a duel that same night, he has completely destroyed the title of "compassionate conservative" .

Posted by: mike bailey at September 3, 2004 10:02 PMWhen I heard Zell Miller's super-patriot rant and his chest thumping about his own Marine Corps service, I thought 'Aha, this guy has got to be another loudmouth vet who never saw combat'. Today I did a little searching to find out if that guess is right, and yes indeed it sure looks that way. Miller was inducted into the Corps in 1953 after graduating from college, and he left it in 1956. The only US war in that period, the Korean War, ended in July 1953--almost certainly before Miller finished basic training. So Miller is a peacetime vet who wants to be known as a lion of war. The reason I made the inference in the first place, obviously, is that vets who saw combat usually speak softly where the tin veterans shout.

I have heard rumors that he is not seeking another term as senator from Georgia and he is planning to write his memoirs. What a unique coincidence for him. A Democrat trash-talking a Republican doesn't sell books but a Democrat trash-talking another Democrat at the RNC with the ferocity that Miller displayed does indeed sell. It doesn't seem that long ago that Miller was raking the Repulican Party over the coals and now all of a sudden he is in bed with Bush. With his pitiful and largely false interpertation of Kerry's voting record, his eye bulging out of his head speech, remininscent of pictures depicting John Brown, this man is an absolute fraud and crackpot who doesn't deserve anything less than a rubber-padded cell.

Some will cry "Oh but he will take his contingent with him". Good. I say "Hope the door hits your ass as you go out." Do the math, his constiuents are red. Let em go red,,,and burn in their own hell!
What will it take for the new Democratic leader to publicly excoriate and ban this vulture from the party?
