Another happy night for me. Edwards kicked butt! I didn't think he was going to do much more than tie Cheney and I thought Cheney was going to do a lot better than he did. Cheney did come across as Darth Vader and he also came across as not very smart.
I suppose that that might be good because he didn't come across as being way smarter than Bush - but it is also ad that he didn't come across as being smarter than Bush.
The body language said it all. Edwards was cool and composed and his answers ware simple and straigt forward. Cheney was tight and nervous. His sholders were shrugged and hands clasped in tension. It was about the 3rd question that you could see Cheney starting to lose it.
Cheney did what people were worried that Kerry was going to do. He got involved in complicated answers that left the viewers behind and confused. Edwards answers were simple and clear - and were far more accurate.
So - all Edwards had to do was tie it and he came across as far stronger that Cheney. I think the viewers would think that Edwards was more prepared to be president than Cheney.

(Cheney's COMPLICATED ANSWERS left the SIMPLE VIEWER BEHIND and CONFUSED)
Edwards talked a lot about WHAT they would do, without talking much about HOW they would do it.
Edwards like Kerry said that they would seek out terrorist where ever they are and kill them. He them went on to say that there are Al Quada terror cells in 60 different countries. Will Kerry and Edwards go into 60 different countries, when it was so wrong for us to go into one.
Edwards said something that struck me at one of main issues. "WE are going to tax multi-millionaires, that is anyone making over $200,000."
I am a small business owner, working on starting another. I make over $200,000. I am by no means a multi-millionaire. Thank you for the hot tip Johnnie Boy. You won't be getting any votes out of this house
Posted by: tomocius at October 5, 2004 08:10 PMI thought Cheney did much better than Bush (which should be troubling all on it's own) in keeping a tight reign on his expressions. I expected to see that famous snarl, but he kept remarkable control by clasping his hands in a death grip during the debate. Why...not even a "fuck yourself" crossed his quivering lips.
Cheney kept wanting to focus on Edwards' record while seemingly doing everything in the world to avoid the whole point of debate...his and the monkey's record the past four years. I thought Edwards did a good job in displaying a man who profits enormously on war and death. Cheney's continuous chant that things are going well and that the American people are prosperous rang hollow to those of us in the real world. I suspect that even those of us who spin a fantasy on their computers of, oh say making over $200,000 a year, realize that Cheney doesn't represent their interests.
Can't wait till Friday.
Posted by: Jay at October 6, 2004 02:25 AMThe difference between Bush and Kerry is this:
Bush may do something that we don't agree with.
Kerry says he may do something that we agree with, and he has a plan for it. Then he actually
does the opposite, but really wanted to do it the first way, and just changed his mind at the last minute.
Yeah, makes sense to me!
Posted by: yes i'm coo coo at October 6, 2004 02:52 AMJay, do you not believe that I make $200,000 per year? Do you think it is a fantasy? I am not trying to rub it in your face. I am telling you that the son of a truck driver from Chicago's south side can become what he wanted to be by working hard, and all of us can accomplish anything if we put our minds to it. A little bit of American ingenuity goes a long way. Jay, I started a company on June 11th. I thought that if I applied myself I could make $20,000 per month. My company grossed $16,000 in June to net $8,000. In July we grossed $57,000 to net $25,000. Not to mention that I have five employees who each made $5,000 in the month of July. August had a bigger draw down do to expanding the operation. As a firm our goal is now to gross $140,000 per month. If you do not believe me I'll make you this bet. I will bet you that I, as an individual grossed over $200,000 in income before the end of the third quarter. I really want you to take me up on this so I will make it attractive. I will bet my $10,000 to your $1,000. That being the fact, Cheney does support my interest by supporting tax cuts. I will pay over $100,000 in taxes this year even with the tax cut.
A thought on Kerry ...
Poor John Kerry:
He throws away someone else's medals.
He drives someone else's SUV.
He marries someone else's wife.
And he inherits someone else's money.
I think we should all vote for him to be president of someone else's country.
Let's just say that I find it difficult to believe that such a busy tycoon would spend all of his time trolling on the internet.
Posted by: Jay at October 6, 2004 06:55 PMBusy tycoon? Who said anything about being a busy tycoon. I work from 7 AM to 2 PM. That is only 35 hours a week, I am hardly busy. I have a computer in front of me at work. I do not watch the dummy box, so that affords me the time to sit in front of this one. I love this thing. Other than blogging it has easy money making abilities, which always strikes my interest. This thing is like the wild wild west.
Do you want to take me up on my bet? Or, do you really find it easy to believe?
