Letter to the Editor
This coming year is likely to be one of the coldest winters in decades. Cold can be measured several ways. What I'm talking about is the average temperature inside of homes of people over 65 years old. The cost of gas and heating oil is expected to go up over 50% while oil companies rake in record profits. As the temperatures inside the homes of old people gets colder one has to ask themselves this holiday season, "What kind of people do we Americans want to be? Do we want to put oil company profits ahead of giving old people a little heat in the winter?" I vote no.
Damn shame our progressive leadership can't summon the guts to ask those same two questions.
Posted by: Ben at November 27, 2005 11:02 PMRecord cold winter this year will be caused by global warming. The north american oscillator will be shut down and the warm water flow from the Pacific Ocean will be blocked off by the melting fresh water from the melting Arctic ICE. This will create an ice age for the North American Atlantic States region and parts of Europe including the UK.
Due to the shut off of 25% of the Natural Gas US productions from the Hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico there will be a shortage of NG for heating and electricity this year in the USA.
That is my prediction for 2005 - 2006 winter.
