Republicans = High Priced Gas

Letter to the Editor

People are guessing about why gas prices are so high. Some say it's worldwide demand. Others say that it's related to hurricanes. But when it comes down to it the real reason is that it's about corporate greed. Electing Republicans is like voting for $100 a barrel oil and $5.00 a gallon gas. When the people are hurting while the oil companies are swimming in money you know the Republicans are in power.

I blame every politician from Carter to Bush jr. for the situation we are in at this time. The government subsidizes all types of things that have never and will never clear a dime but for some reason has seen fit not to aid in helping our country gain dependence from overseas oil. When you have states that will not allow drilling off their coast for fear it may keep tourist away, they need to pay twice as much as the states that are allowing the drilling to take place. Someone mentions windmill power where it is feasable and you get folks that say they are an eyesore. How many cities do you go through that have signal lights that stop you every block? If the government were serious, they would buckle down and address problems instead of pointing fingers at this party or that party. Dems and Reps alike can take their share of blame in all of it.
