Letter to the Editor
First America went to war to liberate Iraq because of weapons of mass destruction. That turned out to be a lie. Then it was because Saddam was an oppressive dictator who tortured, raped, and murdered his people. Now it turns out that Americans are now torturing, raping, and murdering the Iraqi people. And Rumsfield has said the pictures we haven't seen include guards sodomizing young boys, female prisoners raped, sadistic torture, and indecent acts with dead bodies. Today the Statue of Liberty is standing on a box with a bag over her head.
I was just reading Rush Limbaugh's comments about how this was nothing more than "frat hazing". I guess that clears up what Rush was doing in college (it certainly wasn’t attending Political Science or Ethics classes). By in large, I don't give a crap about what Rush thinks, but I found his comments on this topic oddly comforting, considering the likely attitudes of his future roommates in the Florida Prison System. However, he might not end-up engaging in simulated homosexual situations. I hope he saved some of his medication, as his back pain might soon be moving slightly southward.
Posted by: Jim at May 8, 2004 10:00 PMWell, from the first moment I saw Mr. Berg in an orange jumpsuit my skepticism became heightened and I had the distinct feeling that it was another "setup" of the American people by the Bush dictatorship (remember, he was selected, not elected). As an aside, there is a local Vintage store in our town that has bumper stickers, yard signs, etc. available, one of which reads "Can you impeach someone who was never elected in the first place?" and another reads "Iraq is Arabic for Vietnam." Thanks, Marc, for your insightful website. I would put nothing past this Bush regime. They are terrible people.
Posted by: Noreen at May 21, 2004 08:20 PMThe people of America are not evil, nor are the people of Iraq. It is the governments that are. It is time for another Regime change, only this time on American soil.
Posted by: Malcolm at May 22, 2004 10:49 AMToday on the Discovery channel they ran an hour long show called "Capturing Saddam"..from noon until 1:00 CST. at the end of the credits it showed the hole/house where Saddam was hiding.
In that photo was yet ANOTHER white chair!!!
Maybe George held Saddam until the right political time to release him...Maybe that is how he had all those American MARS bars..
Make you wonder huh??
To execute an executioner makes one no better than the one being executed. This is not justice it is a tragedy to think emulating the brutal act on the perpetrator can do justice. The taking of a life prematurely is not the choice of a man or woman but one of God.
