Secret film shows Iraq prisoners sodomised
Young male prisoners were filmed being sodomised by American soldiers at the Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad, according to the journalist who first revealed the abuses there.
Seymour Hersh, who reported on the torture of the prisoners in New Yorker magazine in May, told an audience in San Francisco that "it's worse". But he added that he would reveal the extent of the abuses: "I'm not done reporting on all this," he told a meeting of the American Civil Liberties Union.
He said: "The boys were sodomised with the cameras rolling, and the worst part is the soundtrack, of the boys shrieking. And this is your government at war."
He accused the US administration, and all but accused President George Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney of complicity in covering up what he called "war crimes".
"Immoral behavior breeds immoral behavior."

Posted by: SuprShite at July 16, 2004 02:02 PM"You (at this point) are nothing more than a cancer to our society!" Seriously if Marc Perkel is a cancer to society, then by your statements over 60% of the ppl in the united states are a cancer to this 'society', please bring factual information about how he is a cancer to society and proof.
Posted by: Joshua Gillogly at July 16, 2004 02:48 PM"All I am saying is that he uses some pretty serious accusations as headlines and should bring at least a shred of evidence if he wants to say things like that"
so have plenty of republican new's sources, such as fox news. Which is seen by more people every day then marc's website.
"The democratic party relies on such a weak minded part of our society for a good portion of their votes, and these people are gullible enough to take it serious. BEFORE ANYBODY COMES SCREAMING BACK, I am not saying all democrats are weak minded by any means."
Republicans do the same thing, but with jesus. Most christians don't know anything about both bush and kerry and vote on which one will shove jesus up there ass the most.
"The sad truth is that the democrats come running to poverty stricken and education deficient groups of people when they need votes. These people are quick to believe someone handing out free money for sitting on their asses and shitting out more children because they are too stupid to put on a fucking condom."
Yes, in a lighter term, they run to people who can't afford an education, and people who can't afford 4 28' tv's, but this is what democrates are about a better nation and better people, Plus people are not well sex educated because the religious republican right doesnt believe in safe sex.
"Were it not for the weak minded public the democrats would not stand a chance of being elected. There are some families out there that truly do put forth an effort to make it in this country and I do agree that they deserve help, but I think that there is a large group out there that should be cut off completely"
This society is about freedom, no matter what race, gender, creed and so forth, to say that a group should be cut out, is yet another slame torwards you supporting terrorism.
"People that get on un-employment and ride it out as far as possible before they go and look for a new job, people that have another child because it increases their monthly wellfare allowance, these people are nothing but leeches and should be cut off"
Yes they are leechs but they are less then 1% of the actual people on welfare.
"How much more money could go to families truly in need if we would set up much more stringent guidelines on how the money is allocated????"
well with our trillion dollar deficiet it looks like they need to put that on bush first.
"These are promises that democrats would be making if they truly cared about the lower class citizens. This would force them to put forth an effort to make it on their own and give them well deserved money if they still just could not get by."
The last time i checked kerry was running on the middle class and lower class of the society. He is making promises, maybe you dont understand that they can't accomplish these promises if they are not in power in the first place, 2 people in the senate can only go so far.
"How many would get off of their ass and find work with the proper motivation???? These are issues that should be discussed instead of you calling Bush a rapist, or attacking me because I want proof that justifies a moronic statement like that."
How about you go out and do some of your republican work and stop calling us "tree- hugging, hippie, homos"
Posted by: Joshua Gillogly at July 16, 2004 07:17 PMAnybody who has read the "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" by TE Lawrence knows that he specifically stated in that book that the Turks did this to the Arabs when Arabs were drafted into the Turkish army and the Arabs hated them for it. This is being done deliberately to incite the Arabs. I don't know why-- but I would bet that it has something to do with the fact the Bush was blackmailed into attacking Iraq by the Saudis. (Marc, you know what I'm saying here). Iraq attacked Kuwait to intimidate the Saudis back in '90. George Bush gave his speech to congress about the invasion of Kuwait on September 11, 1990. But from that point on the war was a fraud. A real war-- a real fraud. Saddam IS a CIA operative-- X-Files or no X-Files. The true target of the attack was Saudi Arabia. The invasion of Kuwait led to a permanent U.S. military presence in Saudi Arabia and the threat of being abandoned to Saddam's army if they didn't "play ball." The Saudis counter-attacked by destroying WTC and are using the threat of further attacks plus dirt on Bush Sr. to blackmail Bush Jr. All this other "stuff" is smoke and mirrors. US Army charged into Iraq (some surprised MF's in the 3rd ID) and now we are doing weird "torture" stuff that will incite Arabs to a general uprising. It's like the DI in "Full Metal Jacket"---(Saudis to US: "Now choke yourself--- I SAID CHOKE YOURSELF!!")
Posted by: dancho at July 18, 2004 11:10 PMWhat everyone seems to miss is that the Middle East's hatred towards the west extends farther back than anyon realizes. Back in the day, in the infants days of Islam, there was a man by the name of Saldin who fought back the marauding forces of the Vatican: the crusades, convert or kill. Arabs were once intelligent people who gave us beautiful art, the banking system, numbers and numerous conributions to mankind. Then came the Christians. They wanted to convert or kill them all. Can't have Islam around. Competition. Plus, it was wrong and evil. Since then, the Arabs have focused their anger on Christians, and eventually, the west. One of the reasons why most Arabs live in poor conditions is that for hundreds of years they have equated modernization with westernization. they started with hating christians. then that anger moved westard to where the christians were moving. so in essence, one can blame christianity for the mess in the middle east. now i know some of you will argue about the good side of christianity. well, for me it's mostly two faced. christianity has caused many problems over the years, forcing it's beliefs on other, sometimes by force. we are right, you are wrong and will go to hell... no wonder the east despises us...
Posted by: charlie chingas at July 20, 2004 01:38 PMTypical American b.s. Even when caught "with your pants down" you still deny it. You no better than the supposed "evil" you are trying to eradicate. If anything you are worst.
